When we started Louella Odié our studio was based on Lamma Island in Hong Kong. The only way to get back to Lamma is by ferry, which leaves from Pier 4 in Central every half an hour or so…until the evening when it runs once an hour. Despite being long term islanders we would inevitably end up running for that damn ferry and missing it by a minute all.the.time. so there was plenty of time to admire the view and wait for the next one. This is exactly when Karen created the print you can now find on our Skyline Leather Wristlet. Having missed the ferry she went to sit at Red Bar with her sketch book (which she is never without) and she drew everything she could see from Kennedy Town over towards Central. This subtle but detailed sketch was the result, and it has been so popular that we have carried it since our first collection.
